Terms of Service

Effective date: September 8, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of thesecuritylane.com and services provided by TheSecurityLane LLC ("TheSecurityLane," "we," "us"), a California limited liability company. By purchasing a service or digital product, enrolling in a program, or accessing a paid community or course, you agree to these Terms. Submitting an application alone does not create a coaching relationship, guarantee admission, or reserve a seat. Questions can be sent to nlane@thesecuritylane.com.

Specific program terms

An offer page, order form, checkout page, or participant agreement may contain additional terms for a particular service, including its price, schedule, deliverables, payment plan, refund policy, community-access period, and participation requirements. Those specific terms are incorporated into these Terms. If a signed participant agreement directly conflicts with these general Terms, the signed participant agreement controls for that service.

TheSecurityLane provides cybersecurity career coaching and related digital products, including:

Applications, admission, and enrollment

Some programs require an application and qualification call. We may accept or decline an application based on program fit, experience, goals, availability, readiness, capacity, and the needs of the group. An application or qualification call does not guarantee admission. Unless the applicable offer states otherwise, enrollment and a seat are confirmed only after TheSecurityLane accepts the applicant, the applicant accepts the applicable participant agreement and program terms, and payment is successfully completed. An enrollment offer may expire if payment is not completed by the stated deadline.

Payment

Prices and payment options are shown on the applicable offer, agreement, invoice, or checkout page. Payments may be processed through Calendly, Stripe, or another disclosed provider. You authorize the provider to charge the selected payment method for the amounts and schedule you approve.

A payment plan is a commitment to pay the program's full stated price in installments; it is not a month-to-month membership unless expressly identified as one. If an installment fails or remains unpaid, we may suspend future sessions, materials, recordings, and community access after providing reasonable notice and an opportunity to correct the payment, where appropriate. Amounts already paid remain subject to the applicable refund policy.

Cancellations and refunds

Nothing in these Terms limits a refund, cancellation, or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.

Cohort schedule, attendance, and program changes

The dates, times, duration, delivery method, included materials, and expected work for a cohort are stated in the applicable offer or participant agreement. Participants are responsible for confirming the time in their own time zone and for attending and completing the work. Unless the applicable agreement promises otherwise, a participant who misses a live session is not entitled to a private makeup session, replacement coaching, credit, or refund. A replay may be provided when recording is included, but technical problems, privacy considerations, breakout activities, or the nature of a discussion may prevent all or part of a session from being recorded.

We may make reasonable changes to instructors, sequencing, materials, technology, or session dates when necessary. We will provide reasonable notice and attempt to reschedule any session we must postpone. If TheSecurityLane cannot deliver a material portion of a paid program and cannot provide a reasonable substitute or rescheduled session, any remedy will be determined under the applicable participant agreement and non-waivable law.

Minimum enrollment

A cohort may be conditioned on reaching a minimum enrollment stated in the applicable offer or participant agreement. If that minimum is not reached by the stated decision date, TheSecurityLane may postpone or cancel the cohort. If we cancel it before it begins, enrolled participants will be offered the refund or voluntary transfer described above.

No guarantee of outcome

Coaching is educational and advisory. We do not guarantee that you will pass any certification exam, obtain a job offer, or achieve any particular career outcome. Your results depend on factors outside our control, including your own effort, the job market, and employer decisions.

No professional advice

Coaching services are educational and informational only. They are not licensed career counseling, financial, tax, immigration, or legal advice, and nothing discussed in a session should be treated as such. Decisions about your career, finances, or employment are yours to make, and you're responsible for them.

Privacy and third-party platforms

Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy. Services may be delivered using third-party platforms such as Tally, Calendly, Stripe, Zoom, Circle, MailerLite, website-hosting providers, and other technology vendors. Your use of those platforms may also be governed by their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for an independent provider's outage, account decision, security incident, or change in functionality, but we will take reasonable steps to address disruptions within our control.

Confidentiality in individual and group services

For individual coaching, we will not intentionally disclose information you share to third parties except as reasonably necessary to deliver the service, operate the business, protect rights or safety, comply with law, or as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy. Coaching is not protected by attorney-client, therapist-patient, or another legally privileged relationship.

Group sessions and online communities are shared environments. Other participants may see or hear your profile, posts, comments, questions, assignments, chat messages, files, voice, video, screen content, and anything you voluntarily share during a discussion or coaching hot seat. Participants must respect the privacy of others and may not disclose, copy, screenshot, download, or redistribute another participant's personal information or materials without permission. Nevertheless, TheSecurityLane cannot guarantee that another participant will maintain confidentiality. Do not share employer-confidential information, trade secrets, credentials, unredacted sensitive records, or other information you do not want disclosed to the group.

Recordings and replays

When recording is included, TheSecurityLane may record live sessions and may use automated captions or transcripts. Participants will receive notice, and any consent required for recording will be requested. By remaining in and participating in a disclosed recorded session after providing the required consent, you acknowledge that your name, display image, voice, video, chat messages, shared screen, and voluntary contributions may appear in the recording or transcript.

Recordings and replays are solely for access by TheSecurityLane and eligible participants for the period stated in the applicable offer or participant agreement. They are for personal use and may not be copied, downloaded unless expressly enabled, shared, posted, sold, or redistributed. Participants may not independently record, photograph, screenshot, transcribe, or use automated meeting assistants in a session without advance written permission from TheSecurityLane and any additional consent required from affected participants.

TheSecurityLane will not use a participant's identity, story, image, voice, or session contribution in public advertising, testimonials, or case studies without separate permission.

Community access and conduct

Community access is limited to the participant and the access period stated in the applicable program terms. Login credentials and invitations may not be shared. Participants must not harass others; discriminate; threaten; impersonate; spam; solicit members without permission; upload malicious or unlawful content; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; disclose another participant's information; or disrupt sessions or the community.

We may remove content or suspend or terminate access for a material or repeated violation of these Terms, the participant agreement, or posted community rules. When appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct the conduct. Removal for misconduct does not create a refund right except as required by the applicable agreement or law.

Intellectual property

Roadmap documents, study plans, frameworks, templates, recordings, course materials, and other resources provided as part of a program are owned by or licensed to TheSecurityLane and are for your personal, noncommercial use only. You may not copy, reproduce, publish, resell, sublicense, distribute, or create competing materials from them without our written permission.

Participant content

You retain ownership of original content you submit. You give TheSecurityLane and its service providers a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process that content only as reasonably necessary to evaluate an application, deliver and moderate the service, provide feedback, maintain records, and comply with law. You represent that you have the right to submit the content and that doing so does not violate another person's rights or an employer's confidentiality obligations.

Recognition, gamification, and prizes

A program may offer points, badges, recognition, leaderboards, or prizes. Any eligibility requirements, deadlines, judging criteria, tie-breaking rules, prize descriptions, and delivery terms will be disclosed with the applicable activity. Points and badges have no cash value and do not guarantee a prize. A promotion governed by separate official rules will also be subject to those rules.

Conduct

In addition to the community standards above, we reserve the right to decline or discontinue service to anyone who is abusive, engages in fraud, threatens safety, materially violates another person's rights, or otherwise acts in bad faith toward TheSecurityLane, its staff, or its customers.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold TheSecurityLane LLC harmless from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your misuse of the materials provided, your violation of these terms, or actions you take based on coaching advice.

Disclaimer of warranties

Our services and materials are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TheSecurityLane LLC's total liability for any claim arising from these services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Events outside our reasonable control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including widespread service outages, natural disasters, government actions, labor disruptions, serious illness or emergency, or failures of internet or third-party platforms. We will use reasonable efforts to communicate and provide an appropriate rescheduled or substitute delivery when practical.

Dispute resolution

Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at nlane@thesecuritylane.com so we can try to resolve the issue directly. Any dispute that can't be resolved this way will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Riverside County, California, and both parties consent to that venue.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above identifies the current version. Changes apply prospectively when posted unless applicable law requires otherwise. A material change will not retroactively alter the specific payment or delivery obligations for a completed purchase unless you agree to the change.
